The Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1) is a USB Type-C based Dock that charges your USB Type-C Device using USB Power Delivery while expanding your connectivity options.

Plugable has always been unique in providing a lot more technical details than other brands when it comes to revealing product capabilities and why it works or doesn't work with other products.  This approach is great in the case of early technologies like USB Type-C and Power Delivery where there are interoperability challenges.

Opening up the Plugable USB-C Docking Station box, let's see what accessories are inside.

The Plugable USB-C Docking Station comes with an AC power brick and cable, base mount, as well as a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable.

Unlike like some other USB Type-C docks in the market, don't expect a design that focuses on the anesthetics.  Rather, Plugable focuses on providing enough technical information for you on their website to address compatibility issues and maximize the odds that you get a good user experience by making you as informed as possible.

Plugable also likes to include the product webpage URL directly on the package.  This makes it easier for the user to get support and find information on the product.

The back of the Plugable USB-C Docking Station has two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI 1.4 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB Type-C interface that connects to a USB Type-C device like an Apple MacBook (Early 2016).

The front of the Plugable USB-C Docking Station has two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm audio in and out.
