A lot of people believe the India consumer demand for wearable fitness tracking devices is poised to ramp up quickly in the same way that smartphones have grown over the past 4-5 years.  To take advantage of this trend, more and more brands are offering updated fitness tracking devices with new features and services.

Intex has launched its first fitness band FitRist at Rs. 999 with intend to capture maximum market share by providing first rate features at a super affordable price perfect for a price-sensitive market like in India.

The FitRist fitness tracker band is the second wearable from Intex with the first being the iRist smartwatch. At this price point, the Intex FitRist will be competing against the popular Xiaomi Mi Band and Micromax's Yu YuFit - both of which are priced at Rs. 999.

The Intex FitRist packs an OLED display and like other fitness trackers can measure health and fitness related features such as step monitoring, distance measurement, calorie count, and sleep monitoring. It supports Bluetooth 4.0 and weighs 21 grams.

I purchased the Intex FitRist from Snapdeal for Rs.999.

The FitRist packaging comes with both the FitRist and a charger.

The Intex FitRist is available in white and blue color options.  The body is made of plastic and rubber-good build quality and finishing. The strap is made of soft rubber that looks good and comfortable to wear.

There is a single button for options, and on the rear side there are 3 charging points to connect the charging connector.

This fitness band comes with a 0.86 inch OLED display supporting 96 x 32 pixels resolution. Note the Intex FitRist  doesn't have a touch screen, you will need to use the single dedicated button to control the device. It also does not support motion gestures so to switch on the screen you need to press the button.

To charge the Intex FitRist, just squeeze the top & bottom of the charging accessory and align the charging pins of the accessory with the mating pins on the back side of the center piece. You can charge the Intex FitRist using a PC or Mac's USB Type-A port.
