The cool and sleek design of the Fitbit Alta definitely lends to its appeal among popular brands of fitness trackers. To further extend its capabilities, we want to get the Alta to work with smartphones like the Lenovo ZUK Z1. 

As such let us see if your ZUK Z1 can support the Alta by trying to set them up and running.

To make both devices start communicating, first you will need to download the right App. A simple search for 'Fitbit' on Google Play will allow you to easily find and install the Fitbit App.

  

When you launch the App, you will access the login screen. Since we already have a Fitbit account, logging in is quick, and you go straight to the main dashboard.

  

  

To add the Fitbit Alta to the Fitbit App, tap on the three vertical lines at the top left of the App and select 'Devices' from the list. Then select the '+' sign on the Devices tab and the App will ask you which Fitbit tracker you want to set up - choose 'Alta'.

  

  

Now, select 'Set up your Fitbit Alta' and agree to the terms & policies. To allow the App to detect the Alta device and sync with your ZUK Z1, you need to turn on Bluetooth from your phone. The Fitbit App then walks you through a quick start-up for the Alta, including a nice video on how to set up the charging cable.

  

  

To start connecting with your Alta, you will need to key in a 4-digit code generated by the Alta on to the App. 

Then enter your name and the App will run you through the software update. Since this process happens over Bluetooth, you will have to place both the Alta device and the ZUK Z1 close to each other until update is completed.

  

  

The App then continues to present more useful tips on using the Fitbit Alta, as well as letting you customize which wrist you want to wear it on and what type of clock face to use. The clean and simple illustrations make the contents easy to read and understand. 

  

  

  

  

Once setup has completed, the App will be able to sync automatically with the Fitbit Alta.

  

Pairing your smartphone like the ZUK Z1 with the Alta is quick and easy, enabling you to use the very user-friendly Fitbit app. Apart from that, it also lets you do more like receiving notifications of messages and calls from your phone on the Alta.
