The Roku Express is one of the most inexpensive media players out there and let's see how well it works with the Vizio M-Series 4K Ultra HD Smart TV.  The Vizio M-Series 4K Ultra HD Smart TV is a low cost TV the has some streaming content capabilities but the Roku Express allows you to get a great Roku based streaming content experience with any TV.

In order to set up the Roku Express on the Vizio M-Series 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, you have to first make sure that the Roku Express is plugged into its AC adapter and connected to the HDMI port on the Vizio TV. Note that the Roku Express doesn't support 4K so you don't need to use the HDMI 2.0 ports on the TV.

Turn on the TV and once you have the right HDMI input port selected, you should see the dancing Roku logo.

Once you select your language, you will be directed towards Network Setup. We selected English as our language.

From the Network Setup window, you can select your WI-FI and configure the same.

Once the WI-FI was setup, the Roku Express prompted that it had a software update available. Upon choosing to update, it automatically downloads and installs everything.

Upon completion of the update, the system restarts.

After this setup, the Roku Express asks for the time zone this is applicable to you.

Once the time zone is set, Roku Express gives you the option of selecting display resolution. It gives you two options, 1080p HD TV and 720p HD TV.  Herem we selected 1080p HD TV.

Next, Roku Express prompts the user to activate Roku. This can be done by going to roku.com/links and then entering the code displayed on the window.

The activation procedure is pretty straight forward and the process takes less than 5 minutes. Once the activation is done, the Roku Express configures as per your account preferences and then the system is ready for use.

Roku has one of the most extensive collection of streaming channels so you need to find and add the channels that you want to see.  Even popular channels like YouTube must be added manually.

The Roku Express works great with many Ultra HD TV's like the Vizio M-Series 4K Ultra HD Smart TV and enables you to access Roku's extensive channel library to greatly supplement Vizio's more limited offerings.
