The GoPro HERO5 Black is the first action camera to support charging through USB Power Delivery over USB Type-C. Let's see what happens when we use the Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter to charge the GoPro HERO5 Black.
The Granite River Labs USB Power Delivery test software shows that the Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter declares it supports 12 watts (5 volts @ 2.4 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), and 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps).
The GoPro HERO5 Black then requests 8.25 watts (5 volts @ 1.65 amps) which is then provided by the Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter.
We could then confirm that 5.2 volts @ .6 amps is provided when the GoPro HERO5 Black is well charged.
Since the GoPro HERO5 Black doesn't come with its own charger, it's good that it can be charged by non-GoPro USB Power Delivery chargers like the Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter.
