The Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W was originally released with the Google Chromebook Pixel (2015) but you can use it for many other devices supporting USB Power Delivery like the HP Chromebook 13 G1.  Let's see how well these devices work together.

Using software from Granite River Labs, we were able to verify the existence of PD communication between the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W and the HP Chromebook 13 G1

The Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W declares it can support 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), and 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps) power profiles.

The HP Chromebook 13 G1 then initially requests 5 volts @ 3 amps from the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W.

After the HP Chromebook 13 G1 then declares its own power capabilities, it then requests 20 volts @ 2.25 amps or 45 watts from the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W.

Given the HP Chromebook 13 G1 is part of Google's Chromebook family, it's no surprise that it works well with the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W.
