The Beats Solo3 Wireless uses Apple's new optimized W1 chip that enables 40 hrs of battery life and up to 10 meters of wireless range if paired with a Class 1 Bluetooth device like the Apple iPad Pro.

To use the Solo3 Wireless with the Apple iPad Pro, you'll need to pair the devices together first in the Bluetooth screen of iPad's Setting menu.

Once you hold down the pairing button of the Solo3 Wireless, you should see the headphones discovered by the iPad.  It's interesting that with the Apple iPhone 7, there is a specific pop up window to connect to the Solo3 Wireless as seen in this review, but this pop up window is not used with the iPad Pro.    Pairing the Solo3 Wireless to the iPad Pro is like pairing any other headphone.

If you are using an older iOS version, you may see a request to update the software although we found the Solo3 Wireless still works with the iPad Pro even without the software update.

We did perform the update anyway since it did contain some updates to improve Bluetooth connectivity.

Unfortunately, the iPad Pro would not update by itself so we can to resort to connecting the iPad to a Mac and using iTunes to force an update.

Once the software was updated to version 10.1.1, we reconnected the Solo3 Wireless with the iPad Pro.

With the latest iOS version's use of cards, it was a lot easier to control music playback and monitor the Solo3 Wireless.

Just like with the Apple iPhone 7, the iPad Pro was able to stay connected to the Beats Solo3 Wireless and play audio without any distortions at 300 feet using clear line of sight and also worked well around a 4000 sq ft house even with the iPad Pro tucked in one extreme corner.
