When testing the Apple iPhone 7 with the Apple AirPods under the rain, we observed that the wireless range performance was lower at 50 meters. Past 50 meters, the Apple AirPods started to lose connection with the iPhone 7 with audio distortions.
This is still a good range given that most devices support only Class 2 Bluetooth (rated up to 10 meters range) in order to save on power. The Apple iPhone 7 can of course support traditional Class 2 Bluetooth headphones like the Otium Wireless Sports Earbuds but we observed a wireless range of only 20 meters.
Once we pair the Apple iPhone 7 to the Apple AirPods, we can see the battery information for the earbuds and charging case on the iPhone's screen.
The Apple AirPods that comes with Apple's W1 chip enables it to achieve amazing range with the Apple iPhone 7. You can feel confident that you can stay connected with your music under most normal situations.
