ASUS Chromebook C213 Brings Educational Technology to Schools

Using the same approach with Acer, Google has also partnered with ASUS to come up with a new education PC for the learning sector. The classroom based 2-in-1 ASUS Chromebook C213 will share similarities with Acer's R751T Chromebook Spin 11 such as USB Type-C support, Chrome operating platform, and military standards durability compliance.

With details of the Chromebook C213 still under wraps, Google has revealed plans to enable USB Power Delivery based charging for the notebook and also include a webcam on the keyboard side. Since other USB Type-C based Chromebooks support USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s link speeds), DisplayPort 1.2, and USB Power Delivery based charging, they will most likely be supported by the Chromebook C213 as well. Like the Acer model, it will adopt a similar 360° dual-torque hinge design to allow flexible modes of use. The notebook will be provided with its own stylus to control the display which is also touch screen enabled.

An exclusive preview at the recent BETT 2017 showcased the Chromebook C213 sporting an 11-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 as well as a wraparound rubber bumper protection for its chassis. It also unveiled the notebook's 46Wh battery that is supposed to be able to exceed 11 hours of operation. Additionally the Chromebook C213 was shown offering dual cameras with a 5MP camera fitted at the rear.

Recent updates meanwhile saw Google hoping to make its Chromebooks even more attractive by integrating Android apps support to provide an alternative for conventional Windows and Apple platforms.
