A Quick Look at the Plugable USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter
If you have a Thunderbolt 3 PC, USB Type-C enabled Chromebooks, and the latest Apple MacBooks, you will be able to enjoy DisplayPort Alternative Mode over USB Type-C. For all other notebooks with USB Type-C, you'll need to check individually to see if they actually can support DisplayPort over USB Type-C. Some phones like the LG G5 and HTC 10 also support DisplayPort over USB Type-C.
In order to attach any of these devices to a DisplayPort monitor, you can use the Plugable USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter. One end of this adapter will attach to the USB Type-C port of your device while the other end plugs into the standard DisplayPort connector of your monitor. Note that resolution that you get from this adapter will depend on the device and monitor's capabilities.
Also, don't expect to charge your device with this adapter since the standard DisplayPort connector does not support USB Power Delivery based charging.
