Taking a Closer Look at Best Buy’s HDMI Cable Claims- Can the Insignia 6 ft HDMI Cable Support 4K?

Going to a Best Buy and shopping for HDMI cables, it struck me how HDMI cables were being marketed to justify different price points.  Best Buy of course carries very high priced cables from Monster, but it also carries its own Insignia and Rocketfish brands of HDMI cable products.

Rocketfish, in fancier more premium looking packaging, advertises that it supports 4K Ultra HD, HDR, and 18 Gb/s for its 24 ft and 8 ft cables.

Next to Rocketfish, you have the relatively plain looking Insignia HDMI cable boxes, which offers shorter 8 ft and 6 ft HDMI cables.  These Insignia HDMI cable boxes state these cables support 1080p and 10.2 Gb/s as if to imply that you can't support 4K resolutions with these cables.

To investigate these claims further, I decided to purchase the cheapest $19.99 Insignia 6 ft HDMI cable and see if it could handle 4K, HDR, and 18 Gb/s which Best Buy claims are supported on the doubly more expensive $39.99 Rocketfish 8 ft HDMI cable.
